This is a rocky and steep trail that provides access to the CDT from Carmen Creek. From top to bottom, this designated non-motorized trail starts at the Divide and transitions from singletrack to old skid trail, to 4WD road. The lower end of the trail is marked by a newly installed gate (2021) blocking motorized use from Carmen Creek. All except the upper mile of singletrack was previously used as an ATV trail, and much of it is steep, with lots of loose rocks. If riding up this trail, expect some hike-a-bike on the half-mile section of old skid trail. The upper mile of trail is fun, technical, rocky singletrack with a few switchbacks. Regardless of how it has been used in the past, this entire trail is CLOSED TO MOTORIZED VEHICLES.

Awesome trail. Thanks SIMBA and USFS! Only (2) downed trees, but they are an easy walk around.
