SaveWest Hill Dam Reserve is a United States Army Corps of Engineers flood control project with a recreational park and wildlife management area located at Uxbridge, Massachusetts. West Hill Dam and Park remain open year round. Outside posted hours of operation, please feel free to park at the gates and walk in to enjoy your park. In West Hill Park the West River widens to form a large, natural swimming hole, known locally as Harrington Pool. Tables and grills are available for picnicking in two areas of the park, one near a beach and one under a grove of pines. The park also offers two sandy beaches, a change house and modern rest rooms. Two picnic shelters on a wooded knoll, with electricity, are available to groups for a small fee. A sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits and accessible playground are nearby.
All-in there is a mix of approximately 10 miles of mountain biking specific and multi-use trails. The trails are typical New England style trails with lots of twists and turns and ups and downs, with access to the trails from a network of double track trails and service roads.
To see which trails are the most popular, on the map above, hit the “Trail Style” tab to open the drop down list, then hit “Popularity. The trails colored red are ridden the most while the trails colored green is at the other end.
The trails are all well marked with white on brown name signs at the entrances to all trails and black on white directional arrows on the trails. The trails are named for the military alphabet: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliet and Kilo, and flow logically from one to the other.
Categorized as IMBA Green and Blue, all of the trails are relatively easy and family/beginner friendly. Where there are more difficult technical trail features, there are "B" lines available.
Please note that all trails in the Park are classified as multi-use so be aware of, say hi and yield to hikers and other trail users and, especially, the park rangers. Without them, we cannot ride

Access Info:
The main parking area is on West Hill Dam Road near the Park offices where there are two parking lots. From here You have many options. One can start on the Alphabet Route which takes in all of the alphabet trails and starts with Alpha Trail which is at the top end of the paved West Hill Dam road at the point where Pudding Street and Dam Wall Road starts. Look for the small brown Alpha Trail sign about 10 feet up a thin tree on the edge of the woodland on your left. The trail is not well defined over the grass edge, but inside the woods it is very clear. If you want to do this, download the Alphabet Route to your PDA and follow that. Alternatively you can head over Dam Wall Road to the East Woodland South trail, or you can go left on Pudding Road to the start of Bravo Trail or Charlie Trail on Rice City Road.
