This is classic Idaho/Montana high elevation riding at its finest. This segment of the CDT provides great views into Montana and Idaho. The trail has some short hike a bike segments and technical riding areas due to rocks and steepness. Several loops can be done into Montana using this segment of trail.

The Goldstone Fire burned over the southern end of this trail in 2018. Crews removed "hazard trees" along the trail. There will be blackness for awhile until vegetation regeneration.
