SaveVictoria's riding jewel is Hartland (affectionately referred to as "The Dump"). Extensive amounts of work have gone into proper trail building here and the riding is awesome. Variety is the key word. There is everything for every rider, including club activities and theme rides.
SIMBS have spent the better part of 20 years working on this network of trails that dates back probably 10-12 years before that. A mixture of easy (blue) to double and black diamond trails, the "Dump" has it all.
Regular trail maintenance is scheduled the third Sunday of every month. Email trailcrew+subscribe@simbs.com to get on the monthly reminder list. Trail information can be emailed to trails@simbs.com
When you enter the Hartland park you will notice the "Technical Training Area", a place to learn and refine riding skills. The Land Manager, CRD Parks, rebuilt this area in the fall of 2016. The TTA now features a pump track, drop zone, log rides, and a flow trail with pumps, jumps, drops and 3m high wall rides.
The Hartland Bike Park is an area of the larger Mt Work Regional Park set aside by the Land Manager, the Parks division of the Capital Regional District. At present, the Bike Park does not include trails in the adjacent CRD parks Mt Work, Partridge Hills. Nor does it include the Provincial parks, Gowlland Tod or Partridge Hills (although SIMBS is working on that). Trails in these areas are unsanctioned, unmanaged, and unmaintained.
