Although it is a bi-directional trail, Herb's is favored as a climbing trail from East Burke village to the top of Darling Hill, keeping riders off East Darling Hill Road. The trail is smooth, fast and flowy in both directions with no significant technical obstacles and a reasonably gentle elevation change.
