Trail Boogie Nights
If something is beyond your ability, just walk or ride something else. Your own dismal abilities don't set the bar for everyone. Many regular riders can ride gap jumps. "Pro's only" is a ridiculous thing to say. Is any trail that's too hard for you mean it's only for pro's? Have you compared the trail to the riding in other towns? Your ego needs to be smaller if you think every trail needs to be dialled back to fit your own level of riding. This is the reason unsanctioned trails get built.

This was a great trail but the recent changes made leading up to the re-opening of the trail today have made it un-rideable unless you’re a pro. This is no longer a single black. Jumps are gaps, there are huge hips with no ride arounds.

Every jump is rollable. The hip has a ride around. A few mods are bring made now to make sure the trail follows the guidelines to remain a "black diamond"

I agree. this little trail may have some big jumps that one could get huge air from, but you can certainly ride the whole thing with both wheels on the ground at all times (if I recall correctly). I don't know how to do jumps yet (well, the landing part, I guess), so I just roll them and pump my legs and it's all good. fast and fun. it's a different flavour from the rest of the mountain.

It's being maintained right now, but they're fixing up the entire trail! All the jump are proper gaps, there are some shark-fins, and the hop is massive!

Yeah, good climbing trail, although it's humbling when there are parts of this GREEN trail that I can't do clean. Oh well, I am kind of a beginner and definitely suck at climbing!

Please make sure to ring the bell at the intersection of John Deer and Good Sir Martin. If you don't ring the bell your strava/trailforks ride will NOT record this trail. It's real important to ring the bell.

Awesome little trail. It’s similar to Half Nelson in Squamish, but only one fifth the length. We need more of these on the Shore!

Great climbing trail, not very difficult until Incline. Which is impossible on a bike pretty much!

Awesome trail! Could really use a separate uptrack to keep folks from walking their bikes up the jump line.

Great new trail work from the end of Pangor/Boogieman. The mods around the drop are perfect. Thanks!

Trail Good Sir Martin
Challenging and enjoyable. The trail is pretty steep in some sections with tight switchbacks at steep grade with some rocks to traverse coming through the switchbacks. Physically and technically challenging. I find myself clipping rocks with my pedals and have yet to ride the whole thing without putting a foot down, but I’ll keep trying.

Thanks for clarifying Joe, and for the good work on the trail. The drop is certainly more solid now and will last a while! Only problem is, I think, that it's done so well that it blends in and one (or i at least) can't tell that something has changed until one's right upon it (or below it . So I put the comment for anyone else who follows their old lines, like me and might get surprised. And yes, there is a good ride-around, as well as a line to roll it.

Danger: 3rd drop from the top had been modified and is now higher. I've ridden this trail 100s of times and never had a problem rollong over all drops. Now it seems that there's been some work on the 3rd one from the top and, if taken in the middle, it's become a mandatory jump. There is no warning, and the modification is not obvious from above. There is still an OK roll line on the side, but you have to know it. If you're not OK jumping it, it's best to approach with caution!

That line had been a mandatory drop for the majority of the trails history. The old log that supported the trail had rotted away (making it roll-able) and the trail was ready to collapse: m.pinkbike.com/photo/18368337
I cribbed in the drop with a new piece of cedar to retain the trail and bring it back to its former state. You can see what it used to look like in older photos: ep1.pinkbike.org/p6pb8209236/p6pb8209236.jpg
I may make it roll-able in the future, but the trail is a black and all the drops have ride-arounds.

Possibly my favourite section of the Seymour climb. The corners are open enough that you can get some good uphill flow going. And it takes you right to the rowdy part of Severed, perfect for tacking a little bit more onto the end of a ride.

Phenomenal climbing trail. Thanks for all the beautiful work Martin and Penny. Rode GSM for the first time today and enjoyed every inch of it. It's so great to be able to loop back to Baden without having to head over to Old Buck or Hyannis. Awesome. I'll definitely be heading up to ride some Seymour loops more often. Thanks again!

My son and I rode Good Sir this morning which allowed us to do a couple of laps up there which doesn't happen often for us. The trail meanders beautifully through pristine forest and feels like it's been there forever - a testament to the fantastic engineering and careful planning that went into this right down to the precise fern transplanting! "Isn't this awesome!" was echoed by many of the other excited riders we encountered along the trail today. Congratulations Martin and Penny and to all the other volunteers! Good Sir Martin will be one of the most enjoyed trails on the north shore.
