The Long Path begins in New York City, at the West 175th Street subway station near the George Washington Bridge. After crossing the bridge the trail follows the Palisades Escarpment through the lands of Palisades Interstate Park. There are many spectacular views of the Hudson River, New York City and Yonkers. The trail continues on through Harriman State Park and the lower Hudson before entering the Catskills and on to the Adirondacks.
